On Friday, September 19, 2008 a small group representing First Presbyterian Church of Kenosha and Brass Ball Mobil left for Clarksville, Iowa, not sure why God wanted them to go. Early Saturday morning they showed up at the site of what once was the Lucas family home. I say once because on June 5, 2008 the Lucas family was woken up by the fire department telling them that they had to leave because a river two miles away had broken its banks and the water was coming. Twenty minutes later 8 inches of water was flowing down the street. The next day their home sat in 8 feet of water and all was lost. The photographs tell our story. At 8:30A.M. all that one could see was the foundation, by 9:00A.M. nearly 50 volunteers were on site, both skilled and unskilled labor. There were so many people that the youth group from Hudson, WI (approx. 20 in all) was taken to another home to begin demolition, thereby unexpectedly blessing another family with their labor. By 12:00 noon the floor for the home was done and by 5:00pm the last roof truss was set in place. One elderly neighbor was heard to exclaim,"It's a miracle, just a miracle.

This morning there was nothing here, and tonight I can see the outline of their home." It was then we realized why God had us leave for Clarksville, Iowa, to be part of a miracle!
